About Magic Maker Program

An exciting 10-week opportunity to be a part of a tech startup in the middle of fundraising, launching the product and building traction.

As a part of the experience, we provide a dedicated mentorship schedule including coaching sessions with the Zvook co-founding team and identifying one career/entrepreneurial goal that we will work towards by the end of the program. This can be anything from polishing your CV to prepping on sales skills to understanding entrepreneurship 101.

  • Exposure into startup world. A glimpse into the world of an early-stage startup.
  • Access to our exciting network of startups, investors, advisors and industry players.
  • A unique chance to shadow a startup CEO. Regular updates, joining meetings/business calls and a sneak peek into the day-to-day of an early-stage startup CEO.
  • Mentorship. From sparring on your CV to regular mentorship on career choice, skills development and finding the right network of people for your next step.
  • Reference client. Your work will not go unnoticed and we will provide a certificate or any other referral that you’ll need for the future. We may, on case-by-case basis, help you with finding your next career opportunities.
  • New York based candidates: a desk at our co-working office in Brooklyn that we are sharing with our investor and an exciting group of tech startups.

  • Attitude. “Can’t” is not a part of our vocabulary, and it should not be a part of yours, either. Creativity, resilience and commitment are what we’re looking for.
  • Startup mentality. We are building something from scratch which means there is plenty of hustle, speed, uncertainty, failures and small wins. Plans change and new opportunities arise. We need you to not just be okay with this environment, we need you to thrive in it.
  • Skills. Everyone can talk, we need you to deliver. Be transparent about what you are good at and what needs more work. We are happy to help you improve and develop but we can only do that if we know where you currently stand.
  • Work ethic. Getting shit done. It’s not about the working hours, it’s about dedication. We trust your word and commitment and expect you to be worth that trust. In return, we promise we will be worth it, too.
  • Academic track record. Good grades are nice to have – grit is a must have.
  • Age, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, favorite food etc. Come as you are and wow us with what you can do.
  • Your physical location (for most positions). Just remember that working remotely is still working and we are quick to give feedback if we things don’t go as agreed.

Open Positions

Digital Media
Help Zvook shine in the digital world
  • Social media: establishing and monitoring Zvook’s social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Digital campaigns: helping with Facebook/LinkedIn campaigns, optimizing and monitoring the content, delivery and results
  • Website: updating the website and monitoring the website analytics
  • Engagement: participating in online conversations, replying and actively engaging with the podcasting community via digital channels

Requirements

  • Understanding of social media tools and basics of digital advertising
  • Basic understanding of Facebook campaigns and Google Analytics (in practice, not in theory)
  • Ability to work independently based on the agreed-upon deliverables
  • No geographical restrictions, you can be based anywhere in the world. Please note that you will need to be available at reasonable hours on New York time zone.
  • Commitment of minimum 2 days/week. The hours can be spread across the week or agreed upon case by case, we are flexible.
Content Marketing
Be the voice of Zvook
  • Content creation: writing blog posts to Zvook Speaks (our Medium account) and other publications
  • Content research: gathering industry insights, interesting data and angles relevant to Zvook, looking out for articles written about podcasting and audio, coming up with creative ways to respond or quote most prominent articles.
  • Speaking opportunities: actively looking for speaking opportunities for Zvook at events and networking sessions
  • Copy writing: helping with content generation for the website, social media and various decks and presentations

Requirements

  • Excellent command of English and great written communication skills. Understanding Zvook’s tone of voice is important.
  • Interest in podcasting and audio space, curiosity for finding new information.
  • Ability to work independently based on the agreed-upon deliverables
  • No geographical restrictions, you can be based anywhere in the world. Please note that you will need to be available at reasonable hours on New York time zone.
  • Commitment of minimum 2 days/week. The hours can be spread across the week or agreed upon case by case, we are flexible.
Operations
Be Zvook’s smooth operator
  • CRM: helping with creating and managing our CRM and adopting tools like Hubspot
  • Best practices: helping with creating best practices around managing our network of contacts, keeping up with investor updates, using tools like Google Drive, Asana more effectively etc.
  • Internal development: updating decks and presentations, finding relevant events to attend, researching new tools to use etc.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of tools like Hubspot, Asana etc.
  • Ability to be structured and organized, work well with deadlines and connect the dots
  • Ability to work independently based on the agreed-upon deliverables
  • No geographical restrictions, you can be based anywhere in the world. Please note that you will need to be available at reasonable hours on New York time zone.
  • Commitment of minimum 2 days/week. The hours can be spread across the week or agreed upon case by case, we are flexible.
Growth Hacking
Let’s put Zvook on the map
  • Out-of-the-box ideas: coming up with creative ways to make a mark in the audio/podcasting space. A great opportunity to do things nobody has done!
  • Audio updates: taking ownership of our audio updates to the relevant stakeholders
  • Events: taking initiative of coming up with events we can partner with or developing our own
  • Special project: something exciting that we will talk about with our shortlisted candidates :)

Requirements

  • Creativity, fresh thinking, out-of-the-box mentality
  • Ability to execute the suggested ideas and take ownership of the process from A to Z
  • Understanding of the U.S. as a business and marketing environment as it is our target market
  • Ability to work independently based on the agreed-upon deliverables

Sales and Lead Generation
Help Zvook match brands with podcasts
  • Prospecting: finding potential customers, in our case brands that are looking to work with podcasts, and generating a sales funnel
  • Outreach to podcasts: developing relationships with the podcasts in our database, gathering feedback and insights, helping them get the most out of our platform
  • Outreach to brands: sales from A to Z
  • Follow ups: generating proposals and sales presentations
  • Additional compensation - 10% sales commission on all closed deals without a cap.

Requirements

  • Prior sales experience of any sort (college, work, charity etc.)
  • Great communication skills and business acumen
  • Physical presence in New York (and the ability to show up at the office as and when required)
